The Long Term Care Nurse Aide training program is a 150 hour credit or non-credit course. This course prepares students to work in long term care nursing facilities, hospitals, and with additional
training, home health care.
Description: Nurse Aides work primarily in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and home health agencies. This program will offer clinical experience in a long term care facilities.
Nurses Aides provide basic care such as bathing, feeding, toileting, turning and moving patients in bed, walking with various amounts of assistance, and transferring patients to a wheelchair or
stretcher. They do simple procedures which include taking temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and measuring intake and output.
Nurse Aides must be able to understand patients, understand directions, make themselves clearly understood, and be able to cope with physically demanding and stressful situations. A positive attitude
toward working and learning is important.
